Historic Volcanoes, the Earth Moves
Overview
In the heart of Tenerife stands the majestic El Chinyero volcano, which at 1,560 meters above sea level creates an imposing landscape. Located northwest of Pico Viejo, within the Corona Forestal, this volcano has remained silent since its last eruption in 1909, yet its presence is commanding.
What makes this route unforgettable is the diversity of contrasts it offers. As you advance along the trail, you'll encounter extremely opposing landscapes that will leave you amazed: from arid and rugged volcanic terrain to the lush vegetation surrounding the Corona Forestal. Every step is a revelation.
The route will also take you to the Garachico volcano, an impressive natural wonder. Although less known than El Teide, its geomorphological characteristics and influence on Garachico's history make it worthy of exploration. Our expert guides will share the history and geology behind these volcanoes as you admire their majesty.
This experience allows you to connect with nature in its most primordial form. You'll feel small before the grandeur of these landscapes and marvel at the force of volcanic activity that shaped Tenerife over the centuries.
